As Promised

As promised, pictures of the smaller munchkin socks.

I know they look remarkably similar to the first pair, but if you look closely you can see that these have less pattern in the cuff (in other words, they're a wee bit shorter). I'm lazy, so if you want to see the specs, they are pretty much the same as the first pair (which is in the aforementioned link).

I also have some socks started for the husband:

That's Trekking in dark greys. It's going pretty quick, so he might have a pair for the new year. And he totally deserves it. Even without my Christmas present. Which I can't show you because I don't have it yet, might not have it for a couple of months or so yet, but trust me when I tell you, it's really good and will be worth the wait.

Merry Christmas!

I know I've been lost again, but wanted to pop in to say Merry Christmas to all who celebrate, so Merry Christmas!

I will have something to show later in the week, believe it or not. I finished the second pair of munchkin socks and as soon as I can rip them off the munchkin's feet bribe the munchkin to take them off, I'll get a picture. I also started a pair of socks for my husband in dark greys. If it wasn't Trekking, I think the grey would drive me crazy out of boredom. I'll get him addicted to handmade socks, then I'll work on the color choices.

I also finally picked Frost Flowers and Leaves back up for a couple of rounds this weekend. It's got a ways to go, so I probably won't show it too many times.

I've got some blog reading to catch up on; hopefully I'll get to that soon and try to keep up better.

Anyway, Merry Christmas to all. We've already watched "Frosty the Snowman", "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer", It's a Wonderful Life this year and we still have A Christmas Carol (Patrick Stewart's version), The Grinch Stole Christmas (the cartoon version), and no Christmas would be complete without National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

Something to Show

I actually have a little something to show:

The Specs:
Pattern: Diamonds from More Sensational Knitted Socks, forethought heel (I tried to do my usual heel flap, but I just couldn't get the gusset striping to work out to my liking)
Needles: Size 0s
Yarn: Knitpicks Essential in Petunia and African Violet

I tried to actually use a larger needle for these socks, and got the exact same gauge, so I decided that this yarn really wanted to be a small gauge and increased the number of stitches. And now I have another pair to make because as all mothers know, you can't make one kid something without making the other one something exactly the same :-) Hopefully they won't take quite as long since I have some of the details hammered out.
