Purple Diamond Shawl is Finished!
And I am so very happy with it!
The close-up of the edging:
The Specs:
Pattern: Stripes and Torchon Lace from Victorian Lace Today
Needles: Size 7
Yarn: Valley Alpaca Silk from Webs in Amethyst (I LOVE this yarn and have used it for several projects now. I love the colors and I love how it feels, so very soft. And I really love the price, very good. I highly recommend it.)
Comments: The edging was a giant, hairy pain in the butt and took forever, but it really does add a lot to the shawl and I'm glad I went to all the trouble.
I've now started the Cap Shawl in red. I'll have pictures of that later in the week!

*sigh* It is SO, SO beautiful.
Absolutely breathtaking - but what else would we expect from you? I'm so anxious to get back to knitting lace, but other things are more pressing right now. And yes, I think the border was worth slogging through.
The blocking makes the suffering of the edge all worth while. It's fabulous.
That is one beautiful shawl!! You deserve to be very pleased.
Absolutely gorgeous!! :o)
Beautiful! The edging does add a lot!
Very, very, pretty.
Ooo, it is gorgeous!
It's absolutely gorgeous! I really need to get that book...
I like it SO much better than the one in the book! Yours is so crisp and clear in comparison... the motifs look nice and sharp.
Fantastic!
How about a modeled shot when it's off the blocking board?
You've done a marvelous job! It's absolutely divine.
What a great job you did! Excellent color choice as well.

Wow, that really is gorgeous! The edging is really neat - I'm glad you stuck with it because it has some real punch. And seeing your gorgeous shawl all pinned out like that makes me think that I really need to consider getting an actual blocking board...
Stunning Alison! The border totally makes it, too! Beautifully knit, as always! :)

Allison, it's GORGEOUS! I've finally figured out how I can comment on Blogger blogs again. Unfortunately it means I have to be "anonymous" but it's LizzyB here. I've been reading everyday without being able to comment for months. It's been making me crazy! :)
