WIP Wednesday
I have exactly this much of the edging done:
It's going to take forever, isn't it?
As for the color, well, it's cloudy, so I'm having a worse time than usual getting the color. It really is a vibrant purple with lots more red in it than this picture. Sort of like the purple in the percentage bars in the sidebar. If I ever finish, I'll just keep taking pictures until I can get the color better. Who knew that particular shade of purple could be so difficult?!

Pretty! I have the worst time getting pictures of purples and reds, too.
The edging seems almost as wide as one of the diamond panels -- I'm gonna have to go look this up in my book to see more.
It does seem as if it will take forever, but I know it won't seem that long to the rest of us!
It could go faster than you think, once you get a good rhythm going. Or not. ;-)
Flipping the shawl over repeatedly is what gets under my skin while knitting that kind of edging, but even that can develop a kind of rhythm after a while...
Very pretty! Purples and blues are hard for me to photograph. I play with the white balance settings on my camera. Sometimes using the setting for fluorescent light gives me the truest blues and purples, even though I'm actually using daylight for the light source. I have no idea why.
Oh, that's gorgeous.
I always get impatient when I get to the edging and they seem to go on forever. I try to keep in mind just how well it will look once it's done and I try to concentrate on enjoying the lace.
Just keep thinking how close you are to wearing that beautiful shawl! Just keep swimming, just keep swimming...
hee hee. Miles and miles of endless edging. I tend to count the total number of points I need to knit so I can figure out how far I have to go - 75%, 50%, 45%, 50%, etc. That's the only thing that keeps me going on the big uns.
