The Good, the Bad, The Ugly

The good:
This yarn

The bad:
This yarn is a wee bit tangled

The ugly:
This yarn is really tangled and is going to take a while to untangle.

Please ignore the bad picture and the mess in the background. The point is it's a mess. When I was winding it, I think I must have snapped it in a couple of places because there is more than one end and in trying to wind it with the ball winder, the ends found their way out and tangled it all up. *Sigh* I thought I had found my knitting mojo, but it may leave me again once I get this mess taken care of.

Oh what a tangled web we weave, when our ends snap and tease.

Okay I'm not a poet, nor a plagarist.

My deepest sympathies, I hate tangled yarn messes! Too bad I can't ship you my niece, she's great and untangling yarn messes.

Yuck! Just had this happen with the last yarn I wound into balls. It is no fun.

Oh I hate when that happens. I must admit I have no patience for untangling yarn. There have been times I've just tossed it.

I have a skein of Schaefer Anne in a similar mess. When I am feeling very patient, I spend a little time untangling. It is taking me months (I don't have a swift). I do use my digital scale to weigh the de-tangled ball to measure my progress. I'm half way there.

I hate tangled yarn. Hopefully, you have more patience than me because my tangled yarn messes end up in the trash or cut into a thousand pieces from frustration.

Oh I am so sorry! I hope you get that sorted out with minimal pain.

Yikes! Those slick yarns are always a hassel. I coraled DH into helping me with one huge and unruly skein of a cotton/rayon blend that was wreaking havoc. Best of luck!

I have a skein of Mongolian Cashmere that I foolishly tried to wind by hand in a hotel room after I bought it while in Boston for a convention. Poor thing is now several little balls and one big knot. It so badly wanted to be a scarf.

Also, that gorgeous cashmere/merino lace yarn from Cindy K (when she moved away)? Has what could be dry-rot breaks or bug-induced breaks. I ball-windered one skein and found probably a dozen breaks in 1500 yards. I have 4500+ yards, but I may never be able to use it. This makes me sad.
